Equal pay, the right to vote, and having the same opportunities as men all play an important role in achieving gender equality. Unfortunately, women still do not have the same possibilities as men, also do they not receive equal pay in many part of the world. Even in the 21st century, gender inequality remains a current and important issue.

With our website, we aim to create awareness about gender inequality and to show that this problem is still very real. With different articles and interview and a podcast we want to share our opinions and perspectives. By making this issue visible and open for discussion, we want to inform, inspire and encourage people to speak up, to reflect on their own views, and to feel confident enough to stand up for equality. Together, we believe that awareness can lead to understanding, and understanding can lead to change.

Role division explained!

Merle Weistra:

Hi, my name is Merle Weistra, I am editor in chief. I am responsible for making sure that everyone makes the deadlines, have the final check before we publish something on our website and brainstorm with my team about ideas for our website. I find gender inequality a really important subject to talk about, because it is still a current issue.

Iris Kuiken:

Hi, my name is Iris Kuiken, and I am one of the two people responsible for the layout of this website. Minke and I decided on the overall design, the subgroups, and made it one cohesive whole. In addition, I was a participant in and the editor of the podcast. I really enjoy spreading a positive message and encouraging people to treat men and women equally.

Minke Kuiper:

Hi my name is Minke Kuiper and I am partly responsible for the lay-out and making of the website. Together with Iris we designed this website and enjoyed building it together! Thereby I wrote an article under the economic/social part of this website and contributed in the podcast. I was an actor in the podcast together with Maud and iris.

Maud Wiedenhoff:

My name is Maud Wiedenhoff, and I am an editor together with Richard. We ensure that everything looks good and that everyone’s texts are spelled correctly. I wrote a piece about the social impact on gender equality and a small part about the final goal. I participated in the podcast together with Iris and Minke. I find this topic important, because everyone should have equal rights and oppurtunities.

Richard Randag:
hey, my name is Richard Randag and I my role was together with maud to be the editors. I was responsible for my articles. I was in contact with a criminal lawyer in Spain, whom I interviewed about her insights into gender equality in her work, Spain, and Europe. In addition, I wrote a research article about different regions in Europe and how it is possible that there are different views.

Luca Zanaboni:

Hi, I am Luca. My role in the project was that of the Journalist, I wrote an article on the challenges of Gender Equality in Europe , and also created a compilation of street interviews, where me and my parter ask a diverse group of people their opinions on the current situation of gender equality in the EU.
